One of my favorite sites, Alltop, has just added a new category to its collection - expatriates! On the Alltop expatriate page you can find links to all of the top expat sites and blogs that one should read to keep up with what is going on in the world of the expat. I am grateful to have been selected to be in the first group of sites added.
Although I encourage all of you to take advantage of the expatriate page, there is so much more to Alltop. It's an incredible resource that allows you to tap into the brilliant minds of Guy Kawasaki, his team, and all of his very "plugged in" friends and colleagues who keep up with the things that need to be kept up with from everything from Atheism to Zoology. They have all helped to identify the thought leaders and the places to go and the people to follow in more topics than you could imagine.
It's been described by many as the premier online magazine rack. Here's how the Alltop team describes it:
"We help you explore your passions by collecting stories from “all the top” sites on the web. We’ve grouped these collections — “aggregations” — into individual Alltop sites based on topics such as environment, photography, science, Muslim, celebrity gossip, military, fashion, gaming, sports, politics, automobiles, and Macintosh. At each Alltop site, we display the headlines of the latest stories from dozens of sites and blogs."
Why do I love Alltop? Because it makes my life easier. I stay more informed and connected because of it. It has essentially set up RSS feeds for any topic I could ever want to know about so I don't have to. It's set up in a format that allows me to check out different resources and pick and choose what I need quickly. I can check out the blogs of all of my friends and colleagues on the career and business pages so it's very easy for me keep up with what is going on in their and in those worlds. I can click through and then jump in and comment or connect when I want to. And because I think there are very few people on the planet more genius than Guy, I trust that whatever is up there is stuff I should be reading. He and his team have done the hard work of figuring out what I need to read, so all I have to do is read it. And who wouldn't want that?
With so many blogs and websites under each topic and updates every hour, Alltop most definitely delivers on its promise - all the topics, all the time. But I say that it goes well beyond that promise...so check it out for yourself!

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

I just discovered your blog and I already know I like it - a lot.
Having lived in four different countries myself, I am really glad someone is out there helping people build lives and careers globally.
Having worked with students and new grads for several years, I certainly encourage overseas exposure, starting with at least one semester or alternative spring break experience abroad.
I'll be back.
